Hi! Hopefully the fact that you’re here at my website means you enjoyed something I wrote. If this is the case, thanks.
I suppose the first reason you come to a place like this is to find out more about a person. Well, by way of introduction, my name is Jessica and I write picture books. I’m also currently working on the final revisions of a middle grade novel and a musical medieval romantic comedy for the stage.
My full official bio can be found elsewhere on this site. Unofficially, here’s what else I’ll tell you about myself:
- I don’t have a favorite color.
- I read a lot of books halfway and then stop.
- I like accessories that have a pattern on the inside; it’s like a happy surprise every time I open it up.
- I wish the world were a musical and that people would spontaneously burst into song.
- I fret over every word I’ve ever misspelled. I remember them all.
- I don’t really like candy. Except chocolate. I adore chocolate.
- I used to think I was a dog person, but recently realized I’m a cat person.
- I am a terrible housekeeper; I tend to just clean the things I notice.
- I enjoy seeing movies I haven’t heard anything about.
- I can’t type. Half of what you see here has been erased and rewritten.
Most importantly, I am mom to four wildly amazing kids. We live in Georgia with our cat, Rochester, and his nemesis, Cinnamon the hamster. When we’re not at home, we can usually be found at the local theater, either onstage or behind the scenes.
